Through heartfelt storytelling, they share the quiet truths behind the headlines … the heartache, the fierce love, the exhaustion, and the quiet pride of raising children who needed them most.
This series isn’t polished. It’s real. It’s about what happens in the messy middle. The long phone calls. The diagnoses. The joyful moments that catch you off guard. Each story is a thread in a much bigger tapestry… one woven with resilience, grief, laughter, and hope. We share them here to make space for connection, validation, and visibility. Because when one caregiver tells the truth, another doesn’t feel so alone.
This video series — A Time to Be Heard — shares the lived experiences of kinship caregivers in BC who have stepped up to raise children outside of the formal foster care system. Their stories shine a light on the realities of kinship care in BC and call for fairness, recognition, and policy change.
