A Fairness for Children Raised by Relatives Gathering

Fairness for Children Raised by Relatives invites kinship care providers from across the province to join us as together we address some of the complexities of Aging and Kinship Care. Join us at the beautiful Thompson River University Conference Centre in Kamloops BC. Saturday and Sunday – June 10-11, 2023

Gather face-to-face to connect kinship caregivers from across the province. You will have the opportunity to share your unique experiences as senior kinship caregivers in a safe forum. Learn about various supports and services through guest speakers.

To ensure this event is as accessible as possible, we have secured some grant funds. This means, if you are a kinship caregiver living anywhere in BC, this event is FREE to attend. We want to be able to celebrate all of you and the hard work you do day in and day out, taking care of your kinship care children.

Accommodations will be at TRU and will be shared, thereby allowing us to cover those costs for those traveling to the event. We will also be able to provide limited travel and childcare subsidies.

As we are in the process of confirming our first 20 pre-registered attendees, there are only a few spaces left. Please register ASAP.

Be part of a weekend filled with learning and networking as we support each other — working together to improve the lives of grandparents and others raising a relative’s child in British Columbia.

Once we receive your registration, we will send a confirmation requesting information related to your needs.

NOTE: We follow all recommendations of the most current provincial health orders and encourage all our guests to take precautions to guard their own health and protect others. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, we welcome you.
