British Columbia is reforming child and family service legislation, and MCFD is calling for engagement from First Nations, Inuit, and Métis persons, community organizations, social sector service providers, and other individuals with lived experience with child and family services.
And, for the first time, they are specifically asking kinship caregivers to participate. DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD!
Several opportunities to participate in engagement sessions will be hosted online between April and June 2022. Engagement Sessions for Indigenous persons will be hosted by an Indigenous facilitator. Small gift cards will be offered to registered participants in appreciation of their participation and input.
Please visit their website at https://engage.gov.bc.ca/reformchildfamilylegislation for more information about how to register and to learn which engagement session may be right for you.
Don’t miss this chance!!!! Fairness for Children Raised by Relatives will be making a submission as a society… but we encourage every single kinship caregiver to make sure your voice is heard. Take the time, it’s worth it!
