Virtual Town Hall about the Provincial Tuition Waiver program

posted in: Advocacy, News

You’re invited…
The Provincial Tuition Waiver Program waives tuition and eligible fees for B.C students who are current or former children and youth in care studying full-or-part-time at a BC public post-secondary institution, the Native Education College, or an approved union-based trades training provider.

In August 2023, the program was expanded to remove the age criteria, broaden eligibility, and implement a new annual $3,500 Learning for Future Grant, providing increased access and funding to even more current or former children and youth in care.

On Wednesday, March 13th, from 10:00-11:00 AMFairness for Children Raised by Relatives will be hosting a virtual town hall about the Provincial Tuition Waiver program and its recent expansion, as well as learn about other financial support for post-secondary students available through StudentAid BC.  Presented by Ashley Frerichs, a Senior Policy Analyst from StudentAid BC.

We expect the presentation to be approximately 45 minutes with 15 minutes for Q&A.  We will also continue the meeting after the presentation for any members or other attendees that would like to network with other caregivers and our President, VP and Advocacy Director.

To receive the Zoom link for this meeting, send us an email, and we will provide it.

Please feel free to share this invitation, and hope to see you there.
